The scenic southern Oregon Coast is home to Bandon Dunes, a CORK & TEE Destination, and one of the hottest and most scenic new golf venues on the planet. Spread amongst coastal cliffs, this 54-hole links-style complex consists of Bandon Dunes (design by David McLay Kidd), Pacific Dunes (design by Tom Doak) and Bandon Trails (design by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw). This remote pure golf setting does not allow motorized carts, and we found the caddies to be among the best and most professional we have encountered.
You will enjoy the diversity of the Bandon courses, but playing to your handicap will require every shot in your bag—although we frequently relied on the bullet 5 and 6 iron when the gusty winds picked up. South of Bandon is gorgeous coastal scenery as well as the scenic Rogue River. Straddling the Rogue is Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge, a tranquil hideaway where you can relax by enjoying true Northwest traditions, outstanding hospitality and the “Wall of Wine,” a CORK & TEE favorite!
Your Oregon Coast golf vacation itinerary also could include Sandpines Golf Links, a CORK & TEE Hidden Gem located an hour up the coast from Bandon. This venue opened in 1993 and is rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest in its listing of Places to Play in the U.S. The front nine of this remarkable Rees Jones design is carved from a forest of majestic pines, while the back nine is nestled among the natural dunes, making for a most memorable and peaceful setting that your group will surely revere.
